The Art of Empathy - October 2019
Together we watched TEDTalks video featuring Buddhist roshi Joan Halifax on Compassion and the True Meaning of Empathy to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group here in our very own Herndon Community.
Buddhist roshi Joan Halifax works with people at the last stage of life (in hospice and on death row). She shares what she's learned about compassion in the face of death and dying, and a deep insight into the nature of empathy.
The Power of Vulnerability - November 2019
Together we watched TEDTalks video featuring Brené Brown, who studies human connection -- our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. We sat together and sparked deep discussion and connection in a small group here in our very own Herndon Community.
Listening to Shame - December 2019
